Jack Ingram @ the MIM
Jack Ingram signed w/Rounder and recorded Midnight Motel for a 2015 release. It’s now scheduled for late August. He’s decided to do a preview acoustic tour that’s a combination “workshop/therapy session”! Familiar songs got great intro stories; Biloxi (1st song about his dad) & Beat Up Ford (1st song requested on a dollar bill). There was a great narrative of the guitar pull at Terry Allen’s place honoring Guy Clark with all the luminaries present, following it up with “Stuff That Works”. Jack’s quite humble in that even though he’s had a #1 song, “more people hate Aerosmith than who know who he is”. New autobiographical songs included Blaine on the Ferris Wheel, Ave Adele, Drinking Through It and You’re My Amen. Barefoot & Crazy (w/new lyric Whipped Creme Kiss) and Goodnight Moon ended this special evening.
